Wanderlust Thoughts

Hi friends! I hope you’re all staying safe, healthy, and somewhat sane during these trying times. Juggling a pandemic and a civil rights movement has been absolutely draining.  I’ve been protesting, social distancing, and educating the masses… All while continuing to work, go to grad school, complete an internship, and find time for myself. Whew!  About a month ago, I was able to sneak away to my childhood home in Baltimore to spend some quality time with all of my favorite people.  Originally, I was supposed to spend my vacation on a solo trip to Aruba— Unplugged on an island in a suite overlooking the ocean with a drink in my hand… But you know how that went. My summer plans to Aruba, Puerto Rico, New Orleans, and the Bahamas have all been cancelled. Thanks, Ms. Rona. Hello beautiful people! I promised I'd be back with The Staycation Series: Part Four and here it is!  Let's get this party started with some more fun, affordable activities in the Tampa Bay area!  First, there’s WTR Pool & Grill . It’s a venue at Godfrey Hotel & Cabanas Tampa , featuring poolside lounging and dining with private cabanas, a full bar, and a DJ overlooking Tampa Bay. It’s along the Courtney Campbell Causeway near south Rocky Point, about 15 minutes from downtown Tampa. It reminds me of a pool party in Las Vegas at Tao at the Venetian or something— But in Tampa! It's a lot of fun and gets prettyyyy crowded. (I took these pictures before all the fun got started) On the weekends, they charge a cover fee… But usually only $10-20. Hiiiiii friends!! I’m back with another installment of  The Staycation Series ! I began this series three years ago… But I’ve failed horribly at documenting the fun things to do here in Florida. There’s so much to do all year round! It would be a sin not to take advantage of what I have right in front of me.  AND  since Ms. Rona (the Coronavirus) swooped in and ruined all of our international summer travel plans, I’ve got some fun activities in Florida… That aren’t the typical day at Disney World! Hola mis amores! I hope everyone is having a great summer! I can’t believe how fast it’s flying by. I’ve been EXTREMELY busy. I started grad school in May and took two classes over the course of six weeks... And of course I’m still working full time, so, I had a lot on my plate— But I passed with two A’s and now I have some down time until classes resume and my travel for work starts back up in August. For those of you who don’t know her, my mom, Linda, is my very best friend. This year, I wanted to do something special for her birthday on July 12 th .
