The Staycation Series: Baltimore

Hi friends! I hope you’re all staying safe, healthy, and somewhat sane during these trying times. Juggling a pandemic and a civil rights movement has been absolutely draining.  I’ve been protesting, social distancing, and educating the masses… All while continuing to work, go to grad school, complete an internship, and find time for myself. Whew!  About a month ago, I was able to sneak away to my childhood home in Baltimore to spend some quality time with all of my favorite people.  Originally, I was supposed to spend my vacation on a solo trip to Aruba— Unplugged on an island in a suite overlooking the ocean with a drink in my hand… But you know how that went. My summer plans to Aruba, Puerto Rico, New Orleans, and the Bahamas have all been cancelled. Thanks, Ms. Rona. Hola mis amores! I hope everyone is having a great summer! I can’t believe how fast it’s flying by. I’ve been EXTREMELY busy. I started grad school in May and took two classes over the course of six weeks... And of course I’m still working full time, so, I had a lot on my plate— But I passed with two A’s and now I have some down time until classes resume and my travel for work starts back up in August. For those of you who don’t know her, my mom, Linda, is my very best friend. This year, I wanted to do something special for her birthday on July 12 th . It wasn’t a milestone or anything but I LOVE birthdays and I think every year deserves a celebration.   She loves to travel, just like me, but before this, we had never taken a trip together— Just the two of us— in my 25 ½ years of life.
