5 Things I Learned During My First Year of Homeownership + House Tour

Image
Hi friends!  I can’t believe it’s been a whole year since I purchased my home… And what a year it has been. I know I said I would do this blog post months ago, but here it is on my first house-iversary! Buying my house was the adultiest-adult thing I’ve done thus far. It was such a big, yet AMAZING decision. Sometimes I walk through my door and say to myself, “Wow, this is really MY house.” My house hunting process was fairly easy. I knew that I wanted a townhome with a garage, in a location that was less than 20 minutes from my job in a gated community. I also didn’t want to have to cut grass or keep up the exterior. Pre-COVID-19, I travelled A LOT so that would just be too much to worry about. Another biggie was the design. I didn’t want a house that looked like a bowling alley. You know how some townhouses are really narrow and you can stand at the front door and look straight through the house? I love the open layout of my home. The natural lighting is amazing. How to Throw the Ultimate Galentine's Day Celebration

Image
Hey fam! It’s been far too long! I’ve had soooo much going on between work, travel, grad school, and trying to have some sort of a social life… Oh, and I bought a whole house in August! Very adult of me, I know. Lol! BUT I’m back! I have a little bit of free time before I start traveling again this spring, so I wanted to catch you all up on my life. I have about TEN blog posts that I need to write, edit, and publish so I’ll be cranking them out as fast as I can. The first on my list is my 2 nd Annual Galentine’s Day Celebration! While Valentine’s Day is a holiday when everyone shows affection for their loved ones, Galentine’s Day is a celebration of love strictly for my girlfriends. It’s a reason for my friends and I to get dressed up (or down), have some drinks, and eat lots of chocolate. I LOVE decorating and hosting parties. You don’t have to spend a ton of money to make your venue look festive and fun. I got a majority of my decorations from the dollar sto...

What Happens in Vegas... Goes on the Blog?

Hello friends! I know I’ve been MIA for the past few months, but I didn’t really do any exciting traveling… Until now! A few days ago, I returned from a month-long business trip to Nevada, California, Hawaii, and Arizona and I have a ton of content to share with you all! Shall we begin? My first stop was Las Vegas, Nevada… To preface, I’ve been to Las Vegas five times in my 25 years of life (three trips over age 21), so I really didn't do much of anything this time around. I’ve actually been to “Sin City” three times  (Yes, you read that correctly-- THREE)  in the past 9 months. I know that sounds insane… Here's why! The first trip of  2018 was in August with my niece, Sameera, and nephew, Jalen, for his 21 st birthday and Labor Day weekend. We had so much fun and literally only slept for like 8 hours in three days. Nuts. Sameera, Jalen, and I outside of Fat Tuesday Daiquiri Bar. We stayed at Harrah's right in the middle of the strip. Exce...
