A Quick Trip to Salt Lake City
Hello sunshines!
I’m back with an update on my most
recent adventures. I’m currently halfway into a six-week long business trip. Yes, you
read that correctly. SIX WEEKS. I’ve traveled to Delaware, New Jersey, Utah, and
California so far. Sounds crazy, I know. But, as you know I love to travel so I’m
having a blast. I’m one of those weirdos who thinks staying in hotels is fun.
As I mentioned in my last blog post, I’m an Admissions Counselor at UT so I travel to different high schools
and college fairs to recruit prospective students in Southern California,
Arizona, Nevada, Utah, and Hawaii. In between school visits, events, answering
emails, returning phone calls, and submitting expense reports, I’m trying my best to squeeze in some
exploring. I have a pretty cool territory… All absolutely beautiful places. I’ve
been to a few of them before, but some will be new adventures! Delaware and New Jersey are nothing spectacular. (LOL) My home state, Maryland is just a skip, hop and a jump away so I'm just gonna breeze right past those.
First up: Salt Lake City, Utah!
If you remember my Great American Road Trip post from last summer, I loooooooved Utah. This time I flew instead of driving across the country. It was only a four-hour nonstop plane
ride. Yay! Salt Lake City is gorgeous… Literally like something out of a
magazine. I love looking at the mountains and the air is so… fresh. You know when
you go outside and your clothes smell like… Outside? I didn’t have that problem
in Utah. It’s very clean. And no humidity! My makeup didn’t melt off my face by
the time I got to my car like it does in Tampa.
There are A TON of parks in Salt
Lake City. There’s something to do outdoors all year round, which is really
nice. I rode past Sugar House Park in between high school visits and snapped a
few pictures.
It was nice and sunny but the
weather was a little chilly— Mid-40's in the mornings. But I expected it... It
was late September so the temperature was beginning to drop. I had to bring my
winter coat out because I can’t do the cold anymore. I get goosebumps when it
drops below 70. The temperature warmed up considerably in the afternoons to the mid-70's so
that was really nice.
I stopped at Liberty Park one
morning before my high school visits and had breakfast. I sat on a bench and
ate my bacon, egg, and cheese croissant, drank my coffee, and watched people
jog and walk their dogs. Twas lovely! The people there are unusually nice. I
was strolling in the park and a lady went out of her way to say good morning to
me. I can’t make this stuff up. It’s like something out of a TV show.
My trip to Salt Lake City was a
short one. I flew in on Monday and then I was off to San Diego by Wednesday
afternoon. So, nothing too exciting. Just a few pretty pictures. I definitely
want to go back to go skiing or snowboarding one day. It’s on my list!
That’s all for now, folks! As
always, thank you so much for reading and coming along on my journey with me. I’ll
be publishing my weekend trip to San Diego sometime soon so look
out for that! Until next time.
