How do you say brunch in Spanish?
Happy Sunday
Funday! I’m back with another brunch review. This time, we’re in Spain!
As I mentioned
in “Euro Trip Part 1: Madrid,” one of my favorite meals of the entire
trip to Europe was brunch at La Infinito restaurant in Madrid.
This restaurant may be the greatest hidden gem in all of Spain. I couldn’t
believe it was so empty. Like literally empty… We were the only customers.
It’s located in
Calle de los Tres Peces, which was about a 15-minute walk away from Sameera’s
apartment… But we were absolutely famished so we may have cut that down to 10.
Sameera found
La Infinito by simply googling places to have brunch in Madrid. It was
meant to be!
The decor was sort of hipster-like with mismatched chairs and tables, artsy light
fixtures, and an actual bicycle on the ceiling.
I ordered a turkey
and cheese sandwich on a croissant with a tomato dipping sauce, fresh strawberries
and grapes sprinkled with sugar, freshly squeezed orange juice, and English
breakfast tea.
The food was
absolutely scrumptious and it came out super fast. Everything was so fresh! I even tried Sameera’s toast with mozzarella and
tomato… And I HATE tomatoes… But that was yummy too!
Our waiter was such
a pleasant young man. He only spoke Spanish and was very patient with me as
I stumbled over my words after I insisted on ordering my own food. *Gracias, mi amigo.*
Based on the
overall experience including the cleanliness, service, quality of food, affordability, and
location, I would absolutely give La Infinito 10/10 stars. If you’re ever in
Madrid, stop by!
Have you ever stumbled upon a hidden gem restaurant? Leave me a comment!
